Comrades are many – they are united by something in common, often tied to place, time, or species, and linked to shared ideals.
In these works, found objects are brought together on a round wooden board. They are held in place solely by copper wire or cotton thread.
I have always been fascinated by people who share something, yet are all very different.
Tension arises when the differences grow and the sense of unity begins to fade.
It becomes a process of struggle, of trial and error, until everything finds its place—so that things can run smoothly and balance can return.
Comrades can also be understood as a goal:
Let us become comrades, rather than fight, for as long as we share this common ground.
Because nothing is permanent—everything is always changing.
