Because

Mandela said it at his inauguration speech in 1994 in South Africa.
And apparently it’s by Marianne Williamson: Words about our real fear, which, strange enough, shouldn’t be something to be afraid of.

See for yourself:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light that scares us the most, not our darkness.
We ask ourselves: Who am I that I should be so brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
But who are you that you shouldn’t be?
You are a child of God. Keeping you small doesn’t serve the world.
Keeping yourself small so that others around you don’t feel insecure: this has nothing to do with enlightenment.
We are meant to shine like children.
We were born to realize the greatness of God living within us.
And that greatness isn’t just in some of us, it’s in everyone.
And when we let our light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
If we ourselves are free from fear, then the others are also free through our existence.

Wax, fabric and raw wool as well as seeds, shell, feather and rock form this work.
Who are we to not let our light, our full potential shine?
What makes us forget about it?
If you ever need a reminder to be aware of who you are and what you can bring to the world: This may serve as your personal guidance 😉

Enjoy!
